Our computer skills courses (beginner and intermediate) are available to people from diverse backgrounds; priority is given to concession card holders. These classes are suitable for those with little or no knowledge of computers and are designed to give students basic IT skills.
The topics covered include:
- Keyboard and mouse skills
- Microsoft Office and Google Chrome
- Internet security
- Internet searching
- Banking, shopping and paying bills online
- Digital photography
Our computers have Windows 7 (operating system) and Microsoft Office 2013 installed.
Computer classes have a maximum of 12 students. Each course is of 9 weeks duration (2 hours per week). Each applicant may choose one course only.
The cost of each course is $95 ($65 concession and seniors). Payment can be made in two installments, $50 before course begins and the remaining $45 on week 5.
For concession, payment can be made in two installments, $35 before course begins and the remaining $30 on week 5.
Computer Skills: Basic
Students will be introduced to the world of computers. This will include typing, word processing, emailing, internet browsing and internet searching.

Computer Skills: Intermediate
This course is for students who have a working knowledge of computers and will include more advanced internet work and use of the Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher).

Computer Skills: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program
This course is a basic computer skills course and is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and is currently delivered by an Aboriginal teacher.

Computer Skills: Accessing Government Resources Online
This new computer studies program for culturally and linguistically diverse adults will commence in 2017. The program will assist students to access and use the wide variety of government resources that are provided online. More information about the program will be coming soon!
